Prepare your sanctuary.
The space is part of the practice.

Magic doesn't happen by accident. Every ritual asks you to transform your physical environment first — because your nervous system reads the room before you do. These are your four sensory pillars.

🕯️ Light

Dim Everything Down

Turn off overhead lights. Use one lamp, a candle, or warm salt lamp only. Your brain produces melatonin in darkness — blue overhead light actively suppresses it. Dimming the room is not ambience. It is biology.

🌿 Scent

Anchor With Aroma

Choose one consistent scent for your ritual — lavender, cedarwood, or frankincense. Used every night before sleep, your nervous system learns to associate that scent with safety. Within two weeks, smelling it triggers a relaxation response automatically. This is classical conditioning working in your favor.

🌡️ Temperature

Cool the Room

Your core body temperature must drop 1–2°F to initiate sleep. Open a window an inch if the night allows. Remove heavy socks before bed. Use a lighter blanket during the ritual, add weight when you're ready to sleep. Core cooling is one of the most underused sleep tools available.

📱 Boundaries

The Phone Goes Away

Not on silent. Not face-down. Away. Across the room, in another room, in a drawer. Every notification — even a silent one — activates your threat-monitoring system. The sanctuary begins at the moment you put it down. That decision is the first act of the ritual.

🕯️
Light: One candle or salt lamp only Place it across the room — not beside you. You want warm glow, not reading brightness. If you use a candle, choose unscented or lavender. Extinguish it before you sleep, not as you're drifting off.
🎶
Sound: Start the Sanctuary Soundscape now Play it from across the room at low volume before the guided audio. It trains your brain to begin settling the moment you press play. By Night 5, this sound alone will drop your heart rate.
📓
Journal: Open it before you feel ready Place your Settle Journal open on your nightstand before you change clothes. Not when you're sitting down to write — before. Seeing it open removes the friction of beginning.
💧
Hydration: One glass of water, room temperature Not tea. Not wine. Water. Your body repairs overnight and needs it. Having it already poured is a small act of care for the version of yourself who wakes at 3am.
👗
Body: Change clothes before the ritual begins This is not about pajamas. It is about signaling. Work clothes carry the energy of the day. Changing them is a physical act of closing. Your nervous system notices.
🪑
Position: Sit, don't lie down yet Do the journaling sitting upright — in a chair, on the bed with your back against the headboard, on the floor. Lying down tells your body it's time to sleep; you need enough alertness to reflect with honesty first.
🕯️
Light: Warm and low, but bright enough to write by You need enough light to see your journal without straining. A small bedside lamp at its lowest setting is ideal. If you write by candlelight, place the candle at eye height — not so low it casts shadows across the page.
Optional: Herbal tea — chamomile, passionflower, or valerian These are clinical, not ceremonial — all three have evidence for mild anxiolytic effects. Holding something warm while you write activates your parasympathetic system independently of the journaling. Double benefit.
🖊️
Pen: Physical, not digital The Evening Reflection must be handwritten. The slower pace of handwriting allows emotional processing that typing actively suppresses. Use whatever pen feels good in your hand. This is not small — it's the point.
🌬️
Air: Open a window before you begin Fresh, slightly cool air increases alertness just enough to make the journaling feel present — not drowsy. Then close it before you lie down to let the room re-warm slightly as you transition to sleep.
🌅
Light: Natural light first — before anything artificial Walk to a window before you speak the declaration. Natural morning light is the primary signal that resets your circadian rhythm. Ten seconds at a window is enough. This one habit compounds across weeks into dramatically better sleep quality the following night.
🦶
Body: Feet on the floor before the declaration Stand up. Don't say the declaration from bed. The body position matters — standing activates a different physiological state than lying down. Upright posture is linked to higher confidence markers and lower cortisol in peer-reviewed research.
💳
Card: On your nightstand, face-up, waiting for you Place your Morning Declaration Card there the night before. The moment you reach for your phone, you see it instead. That pause — even if you still check your phone — is the intervention. The card being there changes the morning even when you forget to use it perfectly.
🚿
The Energizer Audio: After, not before, hygiene Play the 5-minute morning audio after you've used the bathroom and splashed water on your face. Your body is more receptive to intentional activation once basic morning physiology is handled. Then stand, press play, and let Camille lead you through it.
Coffee/tea: After the declaration, not before Caffeine before the declaration mutes its effect — it hijacks the activation you're trying to create intentionally. Speak the declaration first. Then put the kettle on. Camille's clients who follow this sequence report it feeling genuinely different within the first week.
 From Camille · First Night

Tonight is not about
doing this perfectly.

Every purchase comes with a personal first-night letter from Camille — a single page, written directly to you, for the night you begin. Not instructions. Not reminders. Just a word from one human being to another about what it means to finally choose rest.

This is the difference between a product and a sanctuary. The letter is included with every ritual package — physical-feel PDF, designed to be read once, then kept.

Three rituals. One arc.
Settle · Reflect · Rise.

Each ritual package is a complete practice on its own — or layer all three into one seamless evening-to-morning arc, rooted in nervous system science and faith-based restoration. Below is exactly how each ritual works, step by step.

01 · Settle

A slower way to meet the night.

A pre-sleep ritual that turns the volume down. Designed for the hour when your mind is still replaying the day — this practice works with your nervous system, not against it. Clinically grounded in vagal toning, somatic breath regulation, and polyvagal theory.

Step 1 · 7:30–8:00 PM The Dim-Down

Reduce overhead lighting. Play the 30-min Sanctuary Soundscape on low. No screens. Place your Settle Journal open on your nightstand. This is a signal — not a chore. You are telling your body the workday has closed.

Step 2 · 8:00–8:07 PM Box Breath Entry

Camille walks you through a 4-4-4-4 box breath pattern — inhale 4 counts, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. Seven cycles. This is the clinical activation of your parasympathetic nervous system. Not optional. This is the door.

Step 3 · 8:07–8:15 PM The Three Release Prompts

Open your Settle Journal. Write for two minutes each: (1) What am I carrying from today that isn't mine to keep?  (2) What did I do well — even if no one noticed?  (3) What does my body need tonight? These are not affirmations. They are honest encounters.

Step 4 · 8:15–8:45 PM Guided Sleep Audio

Camille's narrated 30-minute session — progressive body scan, somatic imagery, and faith-anchored rest declarations. Designed to be listened to lying down, in dim light or darkness. Your only job is to follow her voice and breathe.

Step 5 · 8:45 PM → Ambient Loop to Sleep

Let the Sanctuary Soundscape loop through the night. Ambient music without lyrics or strong beats — engineered to support delta brainwave activity. You don't have to fall asleep immediately. The sound holds the space until sleep comes.

The Science: Vagal toning through slow exhale breathing increases heart rate variability (HRV) — a direct marker of stress resilience. The body scan sequence targets muscle hypervigilance common in trauma-adjacent nervous systems. Used by Camille with clients experiencing PTSD-adjacent insomnia.
  • 30-min narrated guided sleep audio — breathwork + imagery
  • 30-min ambient sanctuary soundscape (loopable, no lyrics)
  • Settle Journal — pre-sleep writing prompts + release pages
  • 14-day progressive reset protocol (written guide)
  • Printable body scan + breath-card (nightstand format)
  • Camille's clinical notes on vagal toning for non-clinicians
02 · Reflect

A close to the day that doesn't argue with it.

A structured mid-evening journaling ritual built for the person who processes everything in their head long after they should have let it go. Three parts, 20 minutes, and a gentle guided audio that actually gets used — because it doesn't feel like work.

Part 1 · Release What Am I Still Holding?

Open the Evening Reflection Journal to the Release page. Write the day's irritants, disappointments, and unresolved loops in a single rapid-fire list — no editing, no processing. Just getting them out of your nervous system and onto paper. This process takes 4 minutes. What's remarkable is how much lighter you feel after.

Part 2 · Gratitude (Real) What Was Actually Good?

Not a gratitude performance. Camille's prompts ask you to find the honest, specific thing — not "I'm grateful for my health" but "I'm grateful my daughter laughed at lunch." Specificity is the point. The brain encodes specific gratitude differently than generic affirmations — it activates the same reward circuitry as physical touch.

Part 3 · Forgiveness Micro-Practice Who (or What) Do I Need to Release?

A 5-minute structured practice — you name the thing (or person), you name what it cost you, and you speak a single releasing sentence aloud. Not to excuse anything. To free yourself. Camille adapted this from her clinical forgiveness framework used in trauma recovery sessions.

Evening Wind-Down Audio · 20 min Guided Transition Audio

A narrated 20-minute audio designed to be played after Part 3 of the journal. Soft music underneath a guided visualization of setting the day down — like placing a heavy bag on a table and choosing not to pick it back up. Specifically designed for people who "can't turn it off."

Evening Affirmation Deck 30 Scripture-Anchored Evening Cards

One card per night for 30 nights. Each card carries a scripture anchor, an evening affirmation, and a one-line prayer. Printable in card size (3×4 in.). Designed to be kept on a nightstand, not forgotten in a drawer.

The Science: Gratitude journaling before sleep has been shown in multiple studies (Emmons & McCullough, 2003; Wood et al., 2009) to reduce pre-sleep cognitive arousal — the mental loop that keeps you awake. Forgiveness practice reduces cortisol reactivity. Combined, these practices lower the nervous system's threat threshold before sleep onset.
  • Evening Reflection Journal — 3-part: Release / Gratitude / Forgiveness
  • 20-min guided wind-down audio (narrated transition practice)
  • 30-card printable evening affirmation + scripture deck
  • Emotional detox writing guide (Camille's processing framework)
  • Forgiveness micro-practice script (printable, 1 page)
  • Research overview: gratitude science for the skeptic
03 · Rise

A morning with intention, a night with kindness.

A paired micro-ritual for the first and last hour of your day — one sentence in the morning, four gentle questions at night. Under three minutes combined. Built for people who say "I don't have time." This proves you do — and shows what changes when you use it.

Morning · Within 10 Minutes of Waking The Declaration

Before checking your phone, you speak one sentence aloud. The Morning Declaration Card tells you exactly what to say — a sentence structure Camille built to be specific, faith-grounded, and momentum-activating. It sounds small. In 30 days, clients report it changes what they notice throughout the day. Neuroscientifically, this is intentional priming of your reticular activating system (RAS) — you're telling your brain what to look for.

Morning · 5 Minutes The Energizer Audio

A 5-minute narrated breathwork + affirmation sequence. Not a meditation — an activation. Designed to be done standing, eyes open, ideally with natural light. Camille leads you through three energizing breath cycles, two body movements, and a spoken abundance declaration. People who do this consistently report showing up differently in the first hour of their workday.

Daily · 30-Day Devotional Morning Scripture + Reflection

One page per morning for 30 days — a curated scripture passage, a 2-sentence reflection by Camille, and a single "abundance lens" for the day (e.g., "Today I will notice where generosity shows up unexpectedly"). Not spiritually prescriptive — you bring your own relationship with faith. This is the container, not the doctrine.

Bedtime · Under 2 Minutes The Four Night Alignment Questions

The matching bookend to your morning. Before sleep, you answer four questions — in your head or one sentence each in the Abundance Tracker: (1) Where did abundance show up today?  (2) What was I proud of, quietly?  (3) Where did I give away my peace — and can I reclaim it now?  (4) What's one thing I want to feel different tomorrow? Four questions. Under two minutes. The compound effect is profound.

Weekly Momentum Tracker Check-In

A one-page weekly tracker — not a habit app, not a productivity matrix. A simple, honest look at what you actually did, what you noticed, and what you want to carry forward. Camille designed it to feel like journaling, not reporting. Most clients find they look forward to Sunday tracker time.

The Science: The Reticular Activating System (RAS) acts as a mental filter — it highlights information that matches your conscious intention. Morning declarations prime the RAS to notice evidence of abundance, possibility, and capability throughout the day. Evening alignment questions help consolidate emotional memory during sleep. Together, they create a feedback loop of self-awareness and intentional growth.
  • Morning Declaration Card (printable, phone-lock-screen format)
  • 5-min morning energizer audio — breathwork + activation
  • 30-day morning scripture + abundance devotional (PDF)
  • Four Night Alignment Questions prompt card
  • 30-day Abundance + Momentum tracker (printable worksheet)
  • RAS science explainer — why this works (1-page plain language)

The 28-Day Journey Arc

Sleep is not a destination — it is a practice. Here is what unfolds when you commit to four weeks with your rituals.

Week 1
The Unhooking
Your nervous system begins releasing the grip of the day. You may feel restless the first few nights — this is normal. You are teaching your body a new language.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
First milestone: One full night without screen-checking
Week 2
The Softening
Your body begins to anticipate the ritual. You notice you are walking to your sanctuary space before you consciously decide to. The nervous system is learning to trust.
8 9 10 11 12 13 14
Second milestone: Waking feeling rested — even once — changes everything
Week 3
The Deepening
Sleep architecture shifts. Deep sleep stages lengthen. Dreams become vivid and memorable. Morning clarity arrives uninvited — a gift from your restored brain.
15 16 17 18 19 20 21
Third milestone: You stop dreading bedtime — you begin looking forward to it
Week 4
The Becoming
The ritual is no longer something you do — it is something you are. Your sanctuary is your anchor. Rest is your right. You have become someone who sleeps well.
22 23 24 25 26 27 28
Final milestone: You wake on Day 28 and realize — you don't remember the last bad night
Days 1–3: Initial resistance is natural. Your body is recalibrating 20+ years of ingrained patterns.
Days 7–10: Cortisol drops. Melatonin production begins shifting earlier. You may feel surprisingly emotional — let that be.
Days 14–21: Sleep onset time shortens. Night waking reduces. Partners begin to notice the difference.
Day 28 and beyond: Improved emotional regulation, clearer thinking, stronger immunity, and a relationship with rest that will carry you the rest of your life.

"It is not that you will sleep perfectly every night. It is that you will know how to find your way back."

Moon Phase Ritual Calendar

The moon has governed human sleep for millennia. Align your rituals with her cycles and feel the difference in your body.

New Moon
Deep Sleep Ritual
The darkest night calls for the deepest surrender. Begin a new sleep intention. Write one thing you are releasing — one habit, one worry, one identity — and let the night receive it.
Tonight's Practice: 90-minute early wind-down. No decisions after 7pm. The Settle ritual with rose or sandalwood scent.
Waxing Crescent
Evening Reflection Ritual
As the moon begins to show herself, begin to plant seeds of intention. The Evening Reflection ritual is most powerful here — vision is expanding, energy is rising gently.
Tonight's Practice: Gratitude journaling before bed. Write 3 things growing in your life. Let sleep carry them deeper.
First Quarter
Morning Abundance Ritual
The moon is building momentum. This is the optimal phase for the Morning Abundance ritual — your RAS (Reticular Activating System) is primed to receive aligned opportunities during active moon energy.
Tonight's Practice: Set your morning intention before sleeping. Let your subconscious work through the night. Wake with purpose.
Waning Gibbous
Release & Rest
The most underused moon phase. As the moon releases her fullness, you release what no longer serves your healing. Sleep is especially restorative in this phase — lean into longer rest.
Tonight's Practice: Body scan before sleep. Name one thing your body is holding. Breathe it out on the exhale. Repeat until drowsy.
Last Quarter
Integration Night
Review what the cycle brought. What did you learn about your sleep? Your body? Your needs? This is not failure analysis — this is sacred witness. Write it, celebrate it, keep what works.
Tonight's Practice: 5-minute reflection journal. What shifted this cycle? What needs more time? Tuck your notes beneath your pillow.
Waning Crescent
The Balsamic Rest
The most mystical phase. The veil is thinnest here. Ancient cultures used this dark night for prophetic dreaming and deep soul restoration. It is no coincidence this is often when you feel most tired — rest without guilt.
Tonight's Practice: Early bed. No agenda. Keep a dream journal on your nightstand. A new moon — and a new beginning — is just days away.
🌕 This Month's Full Moon
Look up your local full moon date and mark it on your calendar right now. That is your monthly Soul Sanctuary night — block it, protect it, prepare for it. You deserve at least one sacred evening per month devoted entirely to your rest.
Join Soul Sanctuary — Receive the Monthly Moon Guide — $14.99/mo

Every ritual is complete.

Choose one, or collect all three. Each package delivers everything you need — audio, journal, guide, and affirmations — to begin that same night.

The Deep Sleep Protocol

$27 one-time · instant access

A two-week guided nervous system reset designed to move you from wired-at-midnight to deeply resting by 10pm. Built on vagal toning, somatic breath regulation, and faith-integrated imagery — not sleep hygiene tips you've already heard.

This is the protocol Camille built from her clinical work with trauma clients who couldn't "turn it off" at night. It is clinical without being cold, spiritual without being prescriptive, and complete enough to begin tonight.

How the 14-Day Protocol Unfolds
Week 1 — Foundation

Nights 1–3: Begin each evening with the Dim-Down sequence (phone away, soft light, soundscape on). Play Camille's guided narration lying down. Write one release prompt from the Settle Journal. Goal: establish the pattern, not perfection.

Nights 4–7: Add the box breath entry (4-4-4-4 pattern) before the audio. Begin the body scan script on Night 5. You will notice your nervous system starting to anticipate the ritual — this is regulation happening.

Week 2 — Deepening

Nights 8–11: Work through all three Settle Journal prompts each evening. Layer the ambient soundscape to loop through the night. Introduce the faith-anchored rest declarations from the protocol guide.

Nights 12–14: The ritual is yours now. Camille's final audio session walks you through a full review: what's shifted, what still needs tending, and how to sustain this without burning out on your own routine.

"Sleep is not a reward for finishing your to-do list. It is medicine your body has been asking for — and you have every right to receive it." — Camille Duncan

 What's Included

Evening Reflection & Gratitude

$19 one-time · instant access

A three-part evening journaling system, a 20-minute guided audio wind-down, and a soft way to close the day without rehearsing everything that went sideways. Designed for the person who processes everything in their head — and genuinely cannot stop.

This ritual teaches you to put the day down. Not suppress it — actually release it, with gratitude and honesty, so it stops following you under the covers.

A Full Evening with the Reflect Practice
Part 1 · Release (4 minutes)

Open the journal to the Release page. Write a rapid-fire list of everything still sitting on your chest from the day — unfinished conversations, things that stung, tasks undone. No editing. No organizing. Just getting them out of your nervous system and onto paper. When you can't think of anything else, you're done.

Part 2 · Gratitude — The Real Kind (4 minutes)

The Gratitude page uses Camille's specificity prompts: not "what are you grateful for" but "name one moment today — even a small one — where something was exactly right." Specific gratitude encodes in memory differently than generic lists. It's the difference between something that actually moves your nervous system and something you write because you feel you should.

Part 3 · Forgiveness Micro-Practice (5 minutes)

The Forgiveness page guides you through naming what you're carrying — toward yourself or someone else — and speaking a single releasing sentence aloud. A releasing script is provided. You don't have to mean it perfectly. You just have to say it. The research on forgiveness and cortisol is clear: this matters physiologically, not just spiritually.

Wind-Down Audio · 20 minutes

After completing all three parts, play the guided wind-down audio. Soft music underneath a visualization of setting the day down like placing a heavy bag on a table and choosing not to pick it back up. Specifically engineered for people who re-rehearse their day in bed. This is the interrupt.

"Gratitude is not toxic positivity. It is the honest naming of what is still good — even on the hard days. That honesty is what makes it medicine." — Camille Duncan

 What's Included

Morning Abundance & Night Alignment

$12 one-time · instant access

A paired micro-ritual for the first and last hour of your day — one sentence in the morning, four gentle questions at night. Under three minutes combined. Built specifically for the person who says "I don't have time for a ritual."

You do. Three minutes. And the compounding effect over 30 days shifts something fundamental about how you move through your days — and how well you actually sleep.

Your Full Day with the Rise Practice
Morning · Within 10 Minutes of Waking (1–2 minutes)

Step 1 — Before the phone: Reach for the Morning Declaration Card on your nightstand instead of your phone. Read the sentence aloud. It takes 20 seconds. The card uses Camille's specificity structure: "Today I am opening myself to [specific quality] by [one small action]." This is not a platitude — it's a priming directive for your Reticular Activating System.

Step 2 — The Energizer Audio (5 minutes): Stand up. Press play on the 5-minute morning audio. Camille leads you through three breath cycles (not meditation — activation), two body movements, and one spoken abundance declaration. People who do this report walking into their first meeting feeling fundamentally different than before they started the practice.

Daily · The Morning Devotional (5 minutes, optional)

One page per morning for 30 days — a curated scripture passage, Camille's 2-sentence reflection, and an "abundance lens" for the day. The abundance lens is a single reframe: e.g., "Today I will notice where generosity shows up unexpectedly." It shifts what your brain pays attention to without requiring any additional effort. This section is spiritually grounded but not doctrinally prescriptive — you bring your own faith.

Bedtime · The Four Night Alignment Questions (under 2 minutes)

Before sleep — either in the Abundance Tracker or just in your head — you answer four questions:

Where did abundance show up today — even in a small way?   ② What was I quietly proud of?   ③ Where did I give away my peace — and can I reclaim it now, before sleep?   ④ What's one thing I want to feel different tomorrow?

These are not journaling prompts requiring paragraphs. One sentence each, or just the thought. The point is to end the day with intentional self-awareness rather than passive scrolling — and to give your brain something constructive to process during REM sleep.

Weekly · The Momentum Tracker (5–10 minutes on Sunday)

A single printable page — not a habit app, not a productivity matrix. An honest look at what you actually did, what you noticed shift, and one word for what you want to carry into the next week. Camille designed it to feel like journaling, not reporting. Most clients find they look forward to the Sunday check-in as their favorite 10 minutes of the week.

"How you greet the morning sets the filter through which everything the day brings gets interpreted. Three minutes of intentional greeting changes the entire filter." — Camille Duncan

A Note from Camille

Sanctuary, by Camille.

I built these rituals because my clients needed them between sessions — and I needed them too. After years of sitting with people who carried the weight of the world into their evenings, I saw how few of us actually knew how to put the day down before we tried to sleep.

These are not generic wellness guides. They are built from clinical training in trauma recovery, attachment theory, somatic healing, and the nervous system science I use with real people every week. They are also built from my faith — the same Matthew 4:4 that anchors everything at Food for the Soul.

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." — Matthew 4:4

This sanctuary is for the person who is doing their best, carrying a lot, and finally ready to give their nervous system a few quiet minutes at the end of the day. Begin tonight. Or begin tomorrow morning. Either one is the right time.

Full Bio & Credentials Counseling Services

Common questions, honest answers.

Is this therapy?
No. These are complementary wellness rituals designed to support rest, reflection, and nervous system regulation. They are not therapy, diagnosis, or clinical treatment. If you need clinical support, reach out to schedule a counseling session.
Who is this for?
Anyone who struggles to wind down at night, feels wired after a full day, wakes up already exhausted, or simply wants a more intentional evening and morning routine rooted in faith and science.
What do I get immediately after buying?
For the Deep Sleep Protocol ($27), you get the 30-min guided narration and 30-min ambient soundscape delivered to your email instantly. Additional protocol materials (journal, guide, prompts) will follow as they are completed — you're purchasing the full package at launch pricing.
Are the other 3 packages available now?
The Evening Reflection ($19), Morning Abundance ($12), and Soul Sanctuary ($14.99/mo) are in development. Join the notification list on this page and you'll be the first to know — with early-access pricing for subscribers.
Is this faith-based?
It is faith-informed and clinically grounded. Scripture anchors the framework, but the practices work for anyone. Camille's approach is welcoming to all backgrounds — the same way her counseling practice is.
Can I cancel the membership anytime?
Yes — no lock-in, no complicated cancellation process. One click, any time. No questions asked, no guilt trips. That is a promise.
How is this different from a sleep app?
This was built by a clinician who works with trauma and anxiety every week — not an algorithm. The Deep Sleep Protocol is grounded in vagal toning, somatic regulation, and attachment-informed care. It is deeply personal, not generic.
